KHS Band Orchestrates Success at State

The Kearney High School Band has hit all the right notes this spring.

On April 5, the band participated in the MSHSAA State Large Group Festival held at Staley High School. Performing for three judges on their prepared program and then a fourth for their sight-reading, the Bulldogs received an overall rating of “Exemplary,” the best possible rating.

KHS traveled to the University of Missouri on Saturday, April 29 to perform in 12 band events in the MSHSAA State Solo and Small Ensemble Festival. They earned three gold medals, eight silverĀ and a bronze.

The KHS Band is directed by Chris Heil, Jamie Heil and Heidi Dodd.
